Industry Talks

This section of the festival is dedicated to conversations that challenge, inspire, and provoke thought. Here, audiences listen and engage with some of the most influential voices in film and television.

This year’s focus turns toward the merging film industry, explored from multiple perspectives. At the heart of these talks lies what defines cinema itself: storytelling. A love for people, stories, and the ways we connect.

Presenting this year’s important sessions, Visions in Swedish Cinema, Meet the Streamers, The Long Fix, and Performance Lecture with Tova Mozard. Come and be inspired by conversations about the future of film.

Visions in swedish cinema 2020 / 2030

What lies ahead for the industry in a cultural landscape increasingly dependent on private funding? How can Swedish film break the downward trend and define a new direction for the years to come?

As of recurring industry talk we are again taking an initiative at a time of Swedish cinema being marked by financial strain, cuts, and limited resources. Where will be in Swedish filmmaking in 10 years from now?

For this signficant discussion, we’ve gathered some of the most influential and outspoken voices in the industry — filmmakers and professionals offering sharp perspectives on the present and future of Swedish cinema.

Moderator for this talk is Hynek Pallas, culture journalist, with a PhD in Cinema Studies.

Please note that this session will be held in Swedish.

TOVA mozard
performance lecture

Since emerging as a visual artist and filmmaker, Tova Mozard has built a practice that bridges art and cinema through the boundaries of image, performance, and narrative.

Mozard’s work, from video experiments like The Mismade Girl to her forthcoming cinematic self-portrait Graceland, interrogates the frame itself. She plays with symbolism and identity, illustrating freedom in cinematic form.

Her work often walks the line between fiction and documentary, having created ILOVERUSS, drawing on 20 years of footage chronicling Russ Kingston’s life as a Hollywood extra and her evolving relationship with him.

In her installations and films, Mozard merges art, performance, and cinema: the image becomes a space for identity, memory, and presence, where the camera is both subject and mirror.

Film excerpts will be shown from works such as Psychic, The Big Scene, Graceland, ILOVERUSS, and Leona Babette, alongside selected photographs. Expect a rare look into the tension between image and story.

Please note that this session will be held in Swedish.

Meet the Streamers

Streaming has become a dominant force in how we experience film and television, reshaping the landscape of moving images. From production to distribution, every corner of the industry has evolved, creating new connections between content and audience.

As media, technology, and culture continue to shift, so do the streaming giants redefining how stories are told, shared, and consumed.

This session opens the door to the ones shaping that future — three leading voices from the streaming world sharing their visions, strategies, and perspectives on the next era of global storytelling.
