Stockholm Industry and the Swedish Institute welcome four leading casting directors to Stockholm for the second edition of Stockholm Casting Sessions, taking place from September 14–16.
This year’s guests are Lucinda Syson (Batman Begins, Children of Men, Wonder Woman), Frank Moiselle (Vikings, Bloodaxe, Penny Dreadful), Nathalie Chéron (Lucy, Taken, Masterplan) and Tanja Grunwald (The New Year’s Eve Party, Speak No Evil, The Promised Land).
Over three days, they will meet Swedish actors, agents, casting directors and selected representatives from Sweden’s film and television industry. The initiative forms part of the Swedish government’s mandate to the Swedish Institute to strengthen the export of Sweden’s creative industries.
For Stockholm Casting Sessions, 30 Swedish actors considered ready to take the next step towards an international career have been selected for speed meetings with the visiting casting directors. The selection was made by a reference group consisting of Swedish casting directors Tusse Lande, Lina Friberg and Fredrik Lehmann.
See all selected actors below.
Alongside the speed meetings, Lucinda, Frank, Nathalie and Tanja will take part in a panel discussion at Bio Skandia exploring the international casting landscape and how more Swedish actors can reach international productions. The panel will share experiences and concrete perspectives on different routes into the industry, including a deep dive into the casting process behind a major international production. They will be joined by Frida Gustavsson from Vikings and Nanna Blondell from Apple TV’s upcoming Foundation.
The event will be moderated by Jonas Pedersen Hardebrand.
